About Me

My name is George Bennett, I’m a student member of the Football Writers’ Association and study Sports Journalism (BA Hons) at the University of Gloucestershire in Cheltenham.

I’ve been an obsessive football spectator since childhood and it’s been my lifelong dream to earn a living from covering sport. The dream was ignited when I started writing articles on games from Match of the Day and Bundesliga Highlights from the age of 12.

I started my first blog in 2014 and built a large team of writers from across the world to help produce high-quality content. I juggled my blogging duties with working full-time in a variety of jobs before starting my studies at the University of Gloucestershire.

Moving to University has brought a monumental change to my life and provided me with extraordinary opportunities within the industry. I was fortunate to attend a press conference with Harry Redknapp and I’ve also covered games at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium, Molineux and the Hawthorns.

My biggest achievements of the first year was being published on Gloucestershire Live and Forest Green Rovers’ website.

In July 2020, I assumed the role of Media Manager at my local football club Calne Town Football Club. My responsibilities consist of overseeing an efficient match day operation, running the YouTube channel and producing written content for the club’s website.
