My name is George Bennett, I’m 22-years-old and study Sports Journalism at Gloucestershire University in Cheltenham. I’ve been blogging since 2014 and I’ve created this platform to showcase the quality of my content and interact with my readers on a personal level.
Football has been a passion of mine since watching the 2006 World Cup as an eight-year-old. I grew up supporting Manchester United and enjoyed the most spectacular years when the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs propelled them to the pinnacle of European football.
I become somewhat of a student of the game during my teenage years and it was during secondary school that I discovered my talent for writing. Writing match reports became my favourite pastime and I launched my first blog whilst at college in 2014.
In 2016, I began to intensify my efforts on my blog and employed several writers from all corners of the globe to help produce content. It was an invaluable experience and the blog achieved a considerable level of success.
But joining University was always my aim in life and I started my studies in September 2019. I’ve since attended a press conference with Harry Redknapp and covered my first match in the press box when I attended the Hawthorns to cover West Brom U23 v Swansea City U23.
I’m set to expand my resume in the coming months with a week’s work experience at the Daily Telegraph scheduled for June. I hope you enjoy reading my articles and feel free to contact me for any enquiries at firstname.lastname@example.org.
