Injury Set-Back for Yasser Larouci

Liverpool defender Yasser Larouci sustained a suspected hamstring injury during the U23s 2-2 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday.

The 19-year-old went down clutching his hamstring after chasing a long ball and was replaced after just 22 minutes.

Neil Critchley revealed, “It doesn’t look good when you’re running for a ball and you suddenly pull up.

“It looks like he’s going to have an issue with his hamstring at this moment in time and we can’t obviously put a time frame on it.”

He added, “He’ll settle down and probably go for a scan and we’ll have to see. It was the only real negative of the night.”

Liverpool came from two goals behind on the night, with goals from Joe Hardy and Harvey Elliott guiding The Reds into the quarter-final of the Premier League International Cup.

Larouci has made 2 appearances for the first team this season, including the 2-2 draw against Macclesfield Town in the FA Cup 4th Round on Sunday.
